Opopanax from Somalia
 
Opopanax resin in pieces. Widely used in perfumery, this resin is used in the composition of several perfumes, some of which are particularly famous, such as Shalimar (Guerlain), Poison (Dior) or Coco (Chanel).
 
Although it is a resin similar to myrrh, its fragrance is balsamic, sweet and velvety. A fumigation of opopanax helps to strengthen the sensory faculties, inspiration or intuition. It has a protective effect and encourages rooting.
 
It is difficult to sort out. The resin, pieces of wood and bark are often intermingled. We sort as much as possible to remove these residues, but there will always be some in each batch.
